Naches Depot and Trail Development

HLA has completed a variety of projects with the Town of Naches, providing new and innovative ways for residents to enjoy their unique town.

The Naches Depot and Trail project included renovation of the historic train station which was originally constructed in 1907, construction of a separate restroom facility building, site lighting, paved parking area, and landscaping.  The project  included a new sidewalk that stretches to the Naches art-deco gas station.  BOR Architecture provided architectural services as a subconsultant to HLA.

Constructed with the project was a new 1.3-mile section of the Naches Trail (Yakima Greenway Path), including a pedestrian bridge. Currently, the Naches Depot serves as a Visitor Information Center for the Naches Valley Chamber of Commerce. The building’s original floors, windows, exterior siding, and interior wood bead board panels were restored, and worn out items were replaced with new historically sympathetic fixtures, hardware, and materials.  Additional improvements included a small park with lawn, pathway, picnic tables, and a bike rack.
