Cle Elum – SR 903 Utility Extensions

This project consisted of five work schedules to improve utility service to the northwestern limits of the City. With an aging, under-sized, maintenance-prone sanitary sewer system, the Miller Avenue Sewer Extension rerouted wastewater flows into a larger sanitary sewer pipeline. Additionally, the City’s wastewater collection system was expanded along SR 903.

Parallel to the sewer extension, the City’s long-planned water system expansion was completed, providing new service and redundancy by looping a long ‟dead end” water main. A Pressure Reducing Valve Station, connecting Pressure Zone 3 to Pressure Zone 2 of the City’s water system was installed. The utility extensions provided service to the new Kittitas County Public Works shop, adjacent residential subdivisions, and the Kittitas County Transfer Station, which had a failing septic system and private well.

HLA provided design plans, specifications, cost estimates, construction observation, project administration, and coordination of approving agencies.
