To continue the Lower Valley’s Wine Country Road, 3.7 miles of roadway was reconstructed through the City of Prosser using HLA-provided funding strategies, environmental assessments and permits, surveying, design engineering, specifications, estimates, construction engineering and plans, contract administration, and project management.
Included in the project was a 676-foot spandrel-arch CIP concrete bridge spanning the Yakima River, a 190-foot three-span precast concrete girder BNSF undercrossing structure with shoofly bridge, gravity block retaining walls, grading, storm drainage, curb and gutter, sidewalk, pathway asphalt pavement, two traffic signals, street lighting, and signing. CH2M Hill provided subconsultant services for the bridge designs.
The entire project was completed in three phases over the course of five years. Prosser’s project received the 2006 Biennial Design, Excellence in Highway Design, Honorable Mention Award from the Federal Highway Administration for the Wine Country Road Improvement Project.
Total Project Cost: $15,287,000
