Snoqualmie Pass Utility District - Phase 1 MBR

Snoqualmie Pass Utility District - Phase 1 MBR Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements

HLA prepared an engineering report for the Snoqualmie Pass Utility District (District) to address improvements and eliminate use of a forest sprayfield.  Phase 1 of the recommended membrane bioreactor (MBR) treatment process will be used as a pilot test to size future facilities and later be converted to process waste sludge.

Improvements included construction of a new MBR treatment process building, new office facilities, and a separate headworks building.  Both buildings were constructed to handle the extreme snow loads found at the Pass.  MBR equipment was pre-purchased so construction and installation could take place during the short summer season.  Phase 1 was completed in 2022.

HLA provided USDA - RD funding application assistance, engineer’s estimate, design, plans, specifications, bidding support, construction survey, inspection, and administration.

Sources of Project Funding:

  •  United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development
  • District Funds

Total Project Cost:  $6,570,000
