As the largest irrigation system within the City of Yakima, the General 308 Irrigation System provides irrigation water to the eastern-most portion of the city, serving approximately 3,300 parcels and totaling nearly 700 acres.
By Spring of 2010, this multi-phase project consisted of the replacement of approximately 65,500 linear feet of existing pipes (ranging in size from 2- to 30-inches in diameter) using slip-lining, horizontal directional drilling, pipe bursting and open-trenching methods. The work has also included the installation of approximately 1,211 service connections and surface restoration.
Phasing and design of this project permitted winter construction, allowing summer irrigation service to remain uninterrupted.
Total Project Cost: $5,690,000
